Overview
Louisville's most widely used mountain bike trails, built and maintained by KYMBA volunteers with something for everyone. Five stars given due to the amount of backbreaking work put in to this trail over the past few years and because it is so close to downtown. And its fun!
Need to Know
This trail has many access points, and due to heavy traffic, its best to ride this loop counter-clockwise. Lots of road crossings as well.
Description
Park at the fountain just off of Eastern Parkway. The trail is easy to follow until just after a technical section with some great rock work that will end near a bridge. Go over the bridge and follow the road along the creek for maybe a quarter of a mile. On the right, the trail will pick back up behind a guardrail. This short section overlooks a parking lot and is extremely technical.
At the parking lot, ride Seneca Park road to the golf course where the trail will pick back up on the right. Ride this along the creek and cross the road and go into the woods. After this flowy section, follow this easy trail around the golf course and take the road back to the Big Rock parking lot, this time using the lower, somewhat less technical trail, that will take you back to the road. From here you can cross the street and pick up the trail just up the hill for the most challenging trail section of the park ("Montana's Pass") and continue on.
