Description

The Lower Oldham Trail is one leg of many possible routes in the area between Buffalo Park and Elden Lookout Road. Moderate grades at the lower end with few obstacles (easy and intermediate riding) give way to steeper terrain with some substantial terrain features at the higher end (these are easily walkable for intermediate riders). This is a good workout going up and a fun descent.

Generally well signed, the only navigation note is that the mapped route, while well traveled by bikers, does not follow the official route of the Lower Oldham Trail in its mid-section (see Lower Oldham - Hiker Route). Going up, look for an unmarked intersection just beyond the Pipeline Trail. Bear left here (following the vast majority of bike tracks). Going straight will get you to the same place, but with a lot more work.

Fun smooth trail with occasional rocks & roots

The biggest obstacle on Lower Oldham. Will probably need to be walked by the intermediate rider. Could be a good surprise on the way down, so keep an eye open!

Just past Buffalo Park the trail gets rocky for a short stretch. Easily walked if necessary.
