This is one half of the pink blazed trail and is one of the best you can take from the upper parking lot.

It starts from the trail heading downhill from the back of the upper parking lot. This forks before the creek, stay left and go over the culvert. The trail goes right here. For some strange reason, some people like to shortcut the trail and go straight across the field in front of you. Never understood why someone would shortcut a trail. More distance the better, right? The social trail going straight through the field is terribly wet in the spring but keeps popping up despite efforts to close it off. Add the distance, and instead stay on the trail following the opposite side of the creek.

This section is very narrow and twisty until it enters the bigger woods. Here, you stay right and continue along the top of the ravine until it doubles back almost back to where you just entered the bigger woods a minute ago (yes, some people shortcut here, too!)

The trail follows up the side ravine and just about where the wet field shortcut comes in, it takes a right down and across the ravine. On the other side, it goes right and starts following the ravine top again.

Right away, you may see yet another social-built shortcut. Ignore that and continue along on the edge of the ravine, enjoying the nice views down into the Hunters Creek gorge, until you find yourself following up another side ravine.

After the small switchback to gain some elevation, that latest shortcut rejoins the trail and the trail continues up the side ravine.

Soon you get to intersection marker 1, which is a yellow trail dropping into the ravine. You stay left and on the edge of the valley.

You may see a faint yellow trail cross, but the next major intersection is No. 2, a purple trail crossing. Continue straight, still ascending, until you reach the old road trail, where this trail ends.
