Overview

Shenandoah River State Park's trail system consists of multi-use trails open to hikers, cyclists and equestrians. The trail system is generally wide and not very technical compared to the surrounding George Washington National Forest and Shenandoah National Park.

Local Info

This park is great for beginners and children, but can be fun for everyone. The trails are wide and smooth in comparison to the surrounding forest (singletrack lovers may be disappointed). All trails are doable on a cyclocross bike for the more experienced. It is also the perfect place to improve fitness while soaking in some great scenery.

Camping & Lodging

The park has an RV campground, primitive campground, and cabins (really nice). This is a fantastic family camping destination!

Other Activities

There is a zip line in the park which is pretty fun. There are various canoe outfitters that will rent canoes, kayaks, or tubes. Fishing here is great.
