The shores of Lake Michigan between the Sailing Center and Discovery World are a great place to "get away" from the city. Be sure to check out the large lagoon. There are also many extensive piers extending out into the lake used by fisherman and bird watchers. This is a great area for family picnics and is very popular with photographers.
