Iceland
Local Info
Mountain biking in Iceland defines adventure with a landscape that is like nothing that you've ever experience. To see such a place from the seat of a mountain bike is a treat.
Expect the unexpected. The routes are wide-open and exposed with constantly changing weather.
Many people who travel to Iceland to mountain bike are part of a guided trip. One popular (and challenging) route is the Laugavegur Route, a multi-day, hut-to-hut journey across the interior highlands. Along the way you'll experience the quintessential elements of the country: geysers, multi-colored ryholite mountains, bubbling mud, endless lava fields and glaciated mountain vistas.

Food & Drink
Reykjavik is a small city with a big pulse. In addition, to great food and drink, the capital of Iceland has a legendary night scene that keeps people going until the wee hours of the morning.

Coffee (don't forget the carrot cake!): Top 5 Coffee Houses

Other Activities
Iceland has plenty of ways to keep you busy when you're not riding. As an island with extreme natural beauty, there is no end to the sightseeing. Reykjavik has a very walkable downtown with plenty of shopping. No matter what you do don't miss: the remarkable geothermal waters of the Blue Lagoon, diving between continental plates at Silfra and the hydrologic power of Gullfoss waterfall.
