Overview

Built between 2009 and 2011, the Happy Valley Trails are a partnership between Alaska Trails, Goldstream Sports and hundreds of volunteers. Funded by grants from the Alaska Recreational Trails Program, Bikes Belong, Fairbanks Cycle Club, Fairbanks Memorial Hospital and Running Club North. Happy Trails was the lead contractor and provided the final construction design.

Of course, these are all opportunities for exploring. Ester Dome is rife with trails, and private property. Have fun poking around, but please respect No Trespassing signs. Note that the Ester Dome Singletrack, Happy Valley Trail System trails are the only purpose-built, professionally-designed trails on the dome. Other trails are mostly old mining roads and glorified animal trails
