Overview
Balm-Boyette Scrub Preserve is composed of 4,900 acres of upland scrub, located just south of Brandon. Roughly a dozen lakes populate the rolling grasslands at the far eastern end of the boundary. The remaining land is heavily covered with scrub oak and pine.
Local Info
Balm-Boyette has something for everyone! Including miles of trails through typical Florida trees as well as some more challenging sections that are great for advanced riders. There are also actual hills, which is a rarity in Florida.
Reaching the trails begins with a flat and easy two-mile unpaved road, but once you have reached them, there are plenty of options.
Because the area is a county-owned preserve instead of a park, there aren't many creature comforts. What does exist is 25-miles of singletrack and 12 miles of supporting doubletrack that make for a great biking trail network!
All trails, structures, and various roads are paid for and maintained by the Southwest Association of Mountain Bike Pedalers (SWAMP)
