Overview

Massanutten Bike Park opened in the summer of 2016. The park consists of 7 trails separated by 2 lifts. The upper trails are suitable for advanced and expert level riders while the lower trails are best suited for beginner and intermediate level riders. The park offers group beginner lessons, kids instruction programs and private instruction for all rider levels. Swing by the bike center for liability waivers and lift tickets, rental equipment, lessons, repairs and shuttles to the western slope trails. If you want to earn your turns, check out the Western Slope Trails on the Harrisonburg side of the mountain. Be advised, trail passes are required for all trail users. Visit svbcoalition.org/our-riding… for Western Slope Trail passes.

The bike park is open Mid-April-October.

Visiting Tips

The bike park is open Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday from 10:00-5:00 in Mid-April through May and September and October. During summer months, the park is open Saturday through Wednesday 10:00-5:00.

Camping & Lodging

Massanutten Resort is a four season resort with several lodging options. Hotels and timeshare units are available and can be booked here. massresort.com/stay/. Alternatively, there are several hotels in Harrisonburg for those looking to stay in town.

Camping is only permitted on resort property during special events. Several other camping facilities can be found around the Shenandoah Valley in the National Park, National Forest and private campgrounds.

Stokesville Campground is a Mountain Bike specific campground about an hour drive from Massanutten Bike Park.

Food & Drink

At the bottom of the trails, located on the ski lodge deck, Basecamp is the closest restaurant to the bike park trails. The resort also has several other dining options; Campfire Grill, Virginia Pizza & Bar-B-Que, and Blue Ridge Buffet are all a short drive from the bike park.

Other dining options near the resort entrance are Log Cabin Bar-B-Que, Jack Brown's single wide, Hanks, Thunderbird Diner and Romano's.

Downtown Harrisonburg has a ton of great bars and restaurants for those looking for a night out on the town.

Outfitters, Tours, & Shuttles

The bike center at the resort offers shuttles to the western slope for guests that want to go for a trail ride.

Other Activities

Massanutten Resort offers several non-biking activities for guests and serves as a wonderful spot to day trip from. Visitors will find 2 golf courses, an indoor waterpark, family adventure park, zip lines, canopy tours, gem mining, climbing and rappelling, spa, nature center, fitness facilities, pools, playgrounds, multiple restaurants, live music, mixer and indoor craft activities, go carts, putt putt, yoga and fitness classes, skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, river & snow tubing, beer and wine tastings, tours of Washington DC, fishing. Additionally, within a one hour drive radius there are hundreds of historical, cultural and natural landmarks; multiple civil war battlefields & museums, Thomas Jefferson's Monticello, James Madison's Montpelier, American Frontier Culture Museum, Woodrow Wilson Birthplace, American Shakespeare Center, Grand Caverns, Luray Caverns, Children's Discovery Museum, Shenandoah National Park.
