River Highlands State Park
Local Info
River Highlands State Park features a lot of flowy singletrack. Most of the trails are easy, with a few intermediate trails. Any difficult sections are easy to avoid. What separates this area from almost all the rest of New England is that there's virtually no rocks here, and only a few roots scattered about. Many of the trails are actually a bit sandy in nature.
Most of the trails here were built by the local NEMBA chapter, and are designed specifically for MTB riders, especially the trails north and south of the main section. Riders should be aware, however, that the Yellow Trail was originally built for foot traffic. While the section that leads to the river is scenic, it also sees some foot traffic, and the bridges on it should be approached with caution.
