Old bike in tree. The frame was found near this spot. The "3" is one of the rescue points and there is a matching one down the hill by the lake. Due to the remoteness, the only way to get the injured out is to carry them to the nearest rescue point and have them transported across the lake by boat.

The Bridge Too Far replacement. Originally just two white oaks lain across the creek so the trail building machine could cross. The closest we can get to it by boat still requires about a two mile hike.

University of Alabama Honors College trail work crew transporting material to replace the "bridge to far". Due to the remoteness of the west side of the park often the easiest or only way to get to a work site is to cross the lake by boat or canoe then hike.
