South end of Horse Trough Trail has no signage, but dips to the right off the doubletrack of Riverview Trail, just above the Riverview sign.
South end of Horse Trough Trail has no signage, but starts just above the Lower Riverview sign, next to the two trees bathing in the sun.
This rapidly growing "meadow" requires 1-2 weekly trimmings to keep overgrowth from obstructing the trail and safe sight lines.
Hercules Club aka Devil's Walking Stick. Don't try to lean on one of these. This one is about 2" in diameter, and also has spikes sticking up between its opposite leaves. This plant is kind of a jerk.
Some halfway thoughtful person pulled a bunch of metal trash from the landfill zone to another part of the trail and built a kind of installation. Someday, a bunch more folks will have to address any safety hazards and take it the rest of the way out.
Adjacent to the landfill/slide zone is a steep-sided dip and a pile of metal waste.
If you see this bridge, you know you're on Concrete Block and not Iron Gate anymore.
