What the trail turns into past the Onion Valley junction (coming from Deadwood Reservoir), as of August 2019.
Top of the ridge. Worth the hike! Steep descent for a bit followed by even steeper, rocky and very loose soil; however, the next few miles until Onion Valley junction will be a blast! Getting out of Onion Valley is another story...
Near a meadow where the trails basically disappears, the GPS tracks are mere suggestions and just before loading the bike on my back on the really steep climb, at around 3.5 / 3.6 miles in (from Deadwood Reservoir).
Final flat section of Alley. Just wild enough! Great views on the left (see next photo).
