Looking south toward Greathouse Peak along a brief section of identifiable trail.
Looking north up another brief faint section of trail.
Looking north at the out-of-place bridge over grass. A very surprising but quite odd sight after miles of wandering. It appears relatively new and well-constructed yet totally unnecessary.
An old stove from decades gone by rests silently in the forest. If you see it, you are indeed on route even though it may seem otherwise.
Looking SW at start of technical singletrack alongside Half Moon Creek. Multiple wet crossings higher, together with the Big Snowies' signature rocks and roots. At ~5 mi., trail breaks out and fades through open meadows before final push to HMP.
Looking east, faced with a series of hurdles and bushwhacking. Be sure to look for the occasional tree blaze to stay on route.
