This is a section of trail that recently had tons of big, white and red oak trees fall, opening the upper canopy and letting the understory plants grow more dense. This is a sensitive area and not ideal for go-arounds.
Mid section of the trail as it cross Biddle. Depending on recent rainfall, the section below may be muddy even though the upper is fine.

Same iconic A-frame has a go-around if needed. Many would reserve the go-around for uphill foot traffic because you can't yield on this feature.
