This road can be ridden as an out and back from the Van Horn Park area above Hunter Creek. Generally easy riding with a few steep sections. The McNamara Hut is a worthy destination, although the forested terrain leading to and at the hut provide very few big mountain views, disappointing perhaps given the high altitude surroundings.

This road is actually more frequently used during the winter months by skiers and snow shoers for access to the McNamara Hut, which can be reserved during the winter months only. Find more info at huts.org.
