Description

A more exciting, but similar to Needles, way down from Needles Lodge. Excellent scenery through dozens of switchbacks on a mostly hard packed surface with occasional rocky section, loose rocks, and roots.

Follow the signs at several confluences and watch for traffic in both directions. This trail may be a better option for descending than Needles. It has better flow and it's shorter than Needles, with slightly more technical rocky sections.

There are a number of stream crossings in early spring.

Trail is very rocky and can become slick due to the loose gravel. Overall decent trail. 3mi

Great alternative when Needles is closed. More rocky this year then normal so be cautious. 5.6mi — 9h 00m

No need for a DH bike here. Lift access XC trails, still some peddling.
