Description

Mr. Toad's heads mostly downhill from the Tahoe Rim Trail (TRT), with several options for making a loop.

The upper section of this trail is much more technical than either section of the TRT you're likely to ride to get here. Be careful, watch your speed, and make sure you have a helmet. Continue carefully. This upper section has many big drops, and sections of nothing but rocks. There is also a huge stair step section that comes up on you quickly.

In 3.5 miles, you'll be through the real technical sections. That does not mean you are out of the woods. Still be careful. The final section has banked turns, and is a very fast section. As you come around some of the blind turns, you'll find that there are wild pine trees (these are the endangered kind) that jump out and grab your shoulders when you least expect it, so watch for them.

Rode up Christmas Valley, Scotts lake, then down Mr. Toad. walked about 5 minutes worth of snow total, but otherwise I would do it again. Super fun… 27mi
