Description
The Buzzards Roost trail system at Rocky Face Ridge Park is a 10.2-mile loop that is a lollipop design based on preservation of the historical significance of this area.
The first 1.6 miles from the parking lot is two-way traffic, so please watch out coming down, and allow the riders going up to maintain their climb. The first 1.6 miles you gain 350 feet of ascent, so it's a pretty good cardio workout.
On odd calendar days, 1, 3, 5, etc.. you'll go counter clockwise on Raptor another two miles to Scavenger Run, and on even calendar days, 2, 4, 6, etc.., you'll go clockwise on Sky View another 1.5 miles to the top.
At the very top on the southeast tip, you have a 360-degree view of the surrounding mountains. To the east, you see Fort Mountain. To the south, you see Dug Gap Mountain and Hurricane Mountain. To the west, there is Lookout Mountain. Trail maps are available at the parking lot at Rocky Face Ridge Park.
Any questions, please contact Northwest GA SORBA on Facebook or on Instagram. Thank you!
