Description

South Shore is a classic Lake Pueblo trail that follows along the shore of one of the arms of the reservoir. This trail gets a fair amount of bike and hiker traffic and therefore is a bit wider than most of the trails at the State Park. It can be accessed from the main trailhead inside of the Park or from an unofficial parking area off Hwy 96.

The trail is really fun and features some twists and turns, contouring around the shore of the reservoir and has a couple of "grunt" climbs that are short but steep. It's particularly useful for the downhill bikers making short loops out of black diamond slot canyons that empty out onto this trail from the east.
