Overview
This is the Timber Mesa trail between the
Flume Connector Trail and the Timber Mesa trailhead. Riding counter-clockwise leaves the tough stuff for the end.
Need to Know
Ride this trail counter-clockwise for a fun ride.
Description
This trail is a full loop from the Timber Mesa trailhead. Connect it from the Panorama Trail via the
Flume Connector and it cuts off 1.5 miles of the loop. Ride this trail counter clockwise for the most fun. The trail starts off in the lower flat parts of the area weaving through the trees with a little bit of climbing. Once out of the trees you are riding on a ridge line with great views.
The trail is smooth and easy to roll through. Just when you think that the trail is pretty easy and rolling along smoothly it pitches up, and pitches up over some really rocky sections. From here it becomes ride a bit, hike a bit, back on the bike, back off the bike. The on and off while going uphill and through the rocks can wear a person out.
The climbing, and hike a bike does eventually end and the last mile-ish takes you downhill to the trailhead parking lot.
