Parking requires an Adventure Pass from the Forest Service.

Description

The trailhead starts at South Fork Campground. This is a continuation of the Santa Ana River Trail. To access this trail from South Fork will require an Adventure Pass to park.

This trail rides along the hillside and through wide forested sections. Small rock gardens, fast smooth singletrack, hairpin turns and rolling terrain galore. You'll cross 3 streams. The first one is an easy ride through in summer, second has a stone bridge and the third requires expert skills to ride, but has a log crossing. There is a short climb after the third stream that leads to a doubletrack downhill to the bottom at a well maintained fireroad (Middle Control Road or on google maps: Mill Creek Rd). This is the end of this trail.

Notes: There are occasional off-shoots from this trail. Ignore them to do the entire trail. Follow 2E03 signage. This trail is one of the best singletracks there is. It's fast and flowy, requiring occasional technical skills. Most of this trail is under tree cover.

Watch for trees that have fallen across the trail - they can sometimes surprise you.
