Description
Grind up
Bellyache Road or
The Boneyard, then continue slightly further to a great overlook and popular camping spot. Descend the singletrack down the steep ridge from the viewpoint, which will intersect
Pool and Ice Rink in a few hundred yards (look for a signed gate on the left at a 4-way intersection).
The trail brushes against
Bellyache Road several times, and in each case, stay on singletrack to the left. Enjoy many junipers trees on less steep terrain with good views and steeper riding as you descend. Over the years, this trail has worn slightly to expose sharp rocks and small root drops, so put your seat down if you can before taking it on.
The trail ends with fun and steep switchbacks on characteristically white, punchy hills. This section of the trail is somewhat eroded, so stay low on the berms, keep your feet high, and watch out for the occasional and optional trailside drop or jump.
The Holy Cross Wilderness lies behind you, the Eagle Valley up ahead, and beautiful red cliffs guard the canyon to the east - enjoy!
