Description
Heading North from the Ferret Trail, Hedgehog Ledge has a short mellow start, then drops down the west side of Bear Hill via several sets of rock stairs. The first set is the steepest but the stairs are close together and they ride well. There are no bail outs though! The second set is not as steep but several are quite large and they must be ridden carefully. The lower stairs are not as bad.
The trail flattens out, navigating though a couple tricky constrictions. Then there's a short, mandatory hike-a-bike on a steep set of stairs going up.
The trail turns right (East) at a trail intersection onto recently constructed singletrack. From this intersection, it's less than 100 feet straight to a gravel road. The new singletrack climbs over a low ridge on a smooth dirt surface with occasional rock features. It ends at the
Bear Hill Trail at a T intersection.
This is a potentially great trail once the hike-a-bike section is rerouted.
