Fort Ord National Monument trails are closed from 30 minutes after sunset to 30 minutes before sunrise.

Description

Drop off Lookout Ridge Road on to Trail 50. Look out for loose gravel as you take the first right into the trees. From there is flows nicely down switching from wooded to manzanita and back as you descend toward Jacks Road and the intersection with Trail 49. Watch the turns for loose sand but after a little rain this trail is lots of fun.

Of course like all trails here it is multi use and bi-directional so keep an eye out for other trail users. At the bottom cross the road and head up Trail 50 (North) to the northern section of the Fort Ord National Monument or take a right on Trail 49 and head up to the Rock.
