Together with its other half, Tophet Loop East, and some road travel, Tophet Loop West makes a nice loop arround the southern bit of Great Brook Farm. However, A nicer ride is to pair it with Heartbreak Ridge.

From the end of the trail/intersection with heart break ridge, travel north over some mostly smooth terrain, with nice twists and turns, and a few rocks to keep things interesting. After the midway intersection with Heartbreak Ridge, the trail enters some nice turns and a few tough spots that are the only difficult level riding on the trail.

From there things ease up as the trail crosses a long bridge over the swamp as it heads back towards Pine Point Loop.
