Description

This trail climbs to the vicinity of the Cerro peak with lots of baby heads, but sand rather than silt as at lower elevations. It then descends through steep switchbacks to the west. This escarpment involves a narrow trail with basalt rocks to grab pedals. The cross slope is very steep and one section is atop a cliff band so caution is advised.

This is a rough, loose, and steep trail best experienced with full suspension and tire sealant: goatheads are very abundant in this area.

Really sandy, a very slow going trek. Fat tires are recommended. — 9h 00m
