Overview

This is a simple LLF loop - it skips some of the most technical stuff not shown on the maps and is a good ride if you're a beginner, riding alone in the dark, or just short on time.

Description

Head up the Power Lines Road, looking for the second left turn - it's marked by a yellow arrow in a white circle. These arrows mark the yellow loop trail, which will make up the bulk of the ride. Once in the woods, follow the yellow arrow trail, turning right to follow an old stone wall southwest. At the T, go right to stay on the yellow loop trail, and follow the trail over some long boardwalks that cross the boggy center of the landlocked forest.

After the boardwalks, turn northwest and continue to follow the yellow loop untill you come to an intersection marked with a number 34.

Take a right off the yellow loop and continue to stay right onto The Switchbacks. Ride down into the stream gully, and then cross the bridge. Climb up the other side of the gully and follow the trail to an intersection, you'll come back here later. Turn left and then take another immediate left, traveling back down into the same gully you just left. Follow this trail back to another T take a left, and follow the trail back past your previous turn out to the yellow loop trail.

Take a left and continue to follow the Yellow Loop trail northwest untill you reach the furthest point and start heading back. Follow the trail back to the southeast, riding close to Rt. 3. Eventually the trail will bring you back to the road under the power lines.

Turn North towards the highway, and ride down a steep and often washed out decent. Continue to follow the yellow trail to the southeast corner of the park, passing many interesting rock carns. Eventually you'll be returned to the road under the power lines.

From here turn left to head back to the parking lot, but take a left at a rock carn about midway back to the parking lot. Follow this unmarked, and sometimes faint trail back into the woods where it becomes much easier to follow. Follow this trail untill it meets up with the Yellow Loop trail. Take a left onto the Yellow loop trail, and follow it back to the power lines.

Take a left, and follow the road all the way back to the parking lot.
