Description

From the west Contrabando Trailhead follow the signs to the left and head across the flats to the climb up an old road cut to the Fresno Divide. Once on top, the trail climbs gradually for several miles through stunning igneous highland on the divide between Contrabando Creek and Fresno Creek. Once you reach the top of the climb it's a quick descent down an old road grade to the Contrabando Dome Trail.

This trail features some of the nicest views in the area and it's well worth the time to stop and have a look around. It also rides well in either direction. It's a long steady climb with short technical sections going north from the trailhead and a screaming fun descent heading south from the Dome Loop.
