Overview
Sedona does not have much easy riding, but thankfully what they do have is great. A combination of scenery, genuine (but not scary) singletrack, and lots of bail out options make this a good option for beginning riders to experience great mountain biking.
Need to Know
This is a VERY popular parking area - come early on weekends or park elsewhere and ride in.
Description
Start from the Bell Rock Vista and follow the
Big Park Loop. There is one small technical section in the southwest corner (near the start of the ride as mapped) where the trail goes in and out of a wash. No problem for intermediates, and beginners can easily walk this section and enjoy the rest. The far northeast corner has a beautiful slickrock area that is fun to play around in.
Go right (north) when you hit the
Bell Rock Trail and follow this easy, wide path until you can take the
Llama Trail to the right. This is marked blue/intermediate, but this short section you'll use is fairly easy. Walk short sections if you get uncomfortable, but nothing that is very hard is more than 10-20 feet long.
After a few tenths of a mile, go left on
Baby Bell Trail and enjoy an easy fast trail to the
Bell Rock Trail. Go left and immediately take a right on
Phone Trail. Enjoy this really fun trail until it ends (all too soon) back on
Bell Rock Trail. Follow this back to your car.
