Description

This is the main downhill trail from four corners. There are other trails, but none are used nearly as much as Cactus Hill Trail. The terrain is dry chaparral with cacti and scrub brush, and the dirt is sandy with loose rock in the crevasses. The trail is used extensively and has a lot of brake bumps and skid ruts in the turns.

From four corners, head downhill, but stay left at the split 50 yards down. Cactus Hill Trail will then flow around easy turns down a ridge. Not too steep, but steep enough for steady braking, try not to let the brake bumps bother you too much. After a last few tight turns, the trail straightens out for a short stretch, then hooks left onto a short uphill slope of loose rock. At the top, the trail ends, intersecting with Santiago Ranch Rd, a wide doubletrack that leads to more trails.
