Overview
This popular loop combines the
Ranger Summit and
Strange Brew trails. At Baruch's Corner you can take in the view from the stone chairs.
Strange Brew makes for a fast & fun descent with bermed corners and lots of roots & rocks to test your suspension.
Description
Leave the West Bragg Creek parking area via the south-west corner and cross the bridge over the creek.
Ranger Summit trail starts about 50m up the trail at a major intersection with the Crystal Line ski trail.
The trail climbs steadily for 3.5km until it reaches the ridge. Look out for a short optional detour after 2.75km via a minor summit with good views to the west & east. Once at the ridge the trail turns to the south east and climbs almost to the summit at the junction with
Bobcat and
Strange Brew.
Stay left (on the ridge) and after a further 300m you'll reach the stone chairs at Baruch's Corner. From there the trail descends back toward West Bragg with only a couple of small climbs to interrupt your flow. Shortly after crossing the wide
Elbow ski trail the trail intersects with
Boundary Ridge which takes you back toward the trailhead. When you swoop out of the final turn on to Crystal Line just continue ahead and swing right to the Bragg Creek bridge.
