Description

From the parking lot and trailhead you have two options to access the the Kanuga trail. Taking Brissy Ridge - Upper will lead you to climb up Kanuga and can connect to the Fire Tower trail or continue on down to the lake. If you go up Sulphur Springs from the parking lot and then take a short hop on Fire Tower, you can hit the connector trail to Kanuga.

The upper section of Kanuga between Brissy Ridge and Fire Tower connector is either an easy climb or a super fun ride with nice flow depending on your direction. The downhill section going to the lake is a bit more intense however. You can really pick up speed and obstacles pop up fast some times. All the switchback turns are tight and probably will have water flowing across them. There are a few steep rocky/ rooty parts and even a short drop or two. All this makes for a pretty spicy run. The trail lets out at the lake where you can choose to go around one side or the other.

A rip-roaring descent with rocks and roots galore (and a moon-booter), Kanuga is a raw-feeling downhill that'll leave you wanting more! 2mi — 0h 28m

Lower section was fun, upper section was a difficult/technical climb. Spent some time hiking.
