Climbing up Casci road, there is Private Property so please be mindful of that.
Overview
This Featured Ride combines a sweet singletrack descent with a basic fire road climb. Plus, there are tons of options to extend this ride as much as you want. This is part of the whole "Pioneer" network of trails. It's also a recommended alternative to climbing back up Scotts Flat Lake Trail since riders come screaming down that trail, and it's best suited as a descent. Trust me, it finishes off with a fun stretch of
Pioneer Trail!
Need to Know
While climbing up Casci (Ranch) Rd. there are plenty of turn-offs. Most are signed but some are not. just go with the flow, but I still recommend using the MTB Project
MTB Project mobile app.
Description
This ride is an awesome combination of work and play. It starts with a workout grind, and ends with a "pin-it" downhill trail.
Start out at the Harmony Ridge Market and head down The
Scott's Flat Lake Trail. After that dumps out on Casci Ranch Rd. below, go left and start the uphill grind. The road starts as paved cement for about 1.5 miles before going to gravel and then eventually to dirt. After climbing up the road for about 5 miles, you'll intersect with Highway 20. Cross over the highway and pick up
Pioneer Trail heading west, or left.
There are lots of trail markers along the way and even posted on some trees. Sometimes it's just a forestry logo and other times it's a directional sign. It's not easy to get lost as the trail always parallels the highway. At this point it's all downhill, so grab a tall gear and blaze down
Pioneer Trail to the Harmony Ridge Market.
