To protect wintering wildlife, the BLM Tres Rios Field Office annually closes trails to all access in the Durango area from Dec. 1 through April 30 (possible to open April 15 if conditions warrant). This applies to the upper trails at Twin Buttes. For the latest information please call the BLM Tres Rios Field Office at (970) 882-1120.

Description

From the junction with Lower Loop and Ed & Flo, Upper Ed & Flo ascends and winds through scrub oak to the Upper BC&F railroad bed. There are several short steep sections that will make you work.
