Description
This is a nice, once forgotten trail that has been adopted by a local from Silverton. It's a great way to change up riding on the Colorado Trail. Make sure you know where the trail intersection is as the start of the trail is somewhat vague and the sign is very small and easy to miss. You'll cross a road and continue on singletrack. Once you are near the bottom, stay on the south side of Cascade Creek. Eventually, you'll look for a spur to your left and cross Cascade. From there, follow a road down to US 550.
This is the recommended route down if following along Cascade Creek and headed towards the highway to complete a ride. The western side of the creek (this trail) parallels Cascade Creek and holds a mostly downhill grade most of the way. The grade is still keeping you pedaling but much preferred route vs the other side that holds a lot more elevation change for the same distance. Meaning that the opposite side is very up and down whereas this side is pedals but mostly headed downhill towards the end. Great way to finish out a ride from Graysill or Engine Creek.
