Need to Know
This is a ONE WAY loop. DO NOT RIDE BACKWARDS FOR ANY REASON. Follow the arrows. The trailhead is at the message board on the west end of the parking lot. Look for the arrows on white posts there and follow them. You'll not need a map, GPS, or any guiding device. The trail is well-marked all the way around. You can ride with no worry of getting lost.
This Feature Trail is for the Novice/Main Loop. It shares trail with the
Intermediate Loop and
Expert Loop at the start and a few other areas. The following are the markings for all three just for FYI:
Green Circle = Novice/Main Loop 2.5 miles
Blue Square =
Intermediate Loop 3.5 miles
Black Diamond =
Expert Loop 6.4 miles
Description
This is the Rangeline Nature Preserve trail system. This trail is smooth, fast, and flowing but sometimes tight and technical, demanding that you pay attention at ALL Times. The trail starts at the north side of the parking lot and once you enter the trail you immediately start with a short descent onto the trail with some rocks on either side. The trail makes a hard left which brings you into a flat, sometimes sandy section. This is a taste of the surfaces you'll see throughout the trail. As you ride you come across banked turns, moguls, man-made bridges, elevated trail, log crossings, tight turns, and even some deer once in a while.
When you ride be aware of the trail markers. The Green arrows will keep you on the Novice trail, Main Loop. The Blue arrows mark the more difficult section that connect back into the Green Novice Loop. Black arrows mark the Expert trails splitting off both the Blue and Green sections of the course but all trails take you back to the parking lot. You may be surprised how much trail is packed into this Park when you advance to the Blue and Black sections of the trail system. Note, this is a One-Way trail.
