Description
Trestle Downhill is the quintessential downhill track at Trestle Bike Park. Its trailhead is located right next to the top of the Explorer lift, behind Sunspot Lodge. This track is for experts ONLY!! Do not attempt Trestle downhill unless you have solid experience and skills on a mountain bike.
The track starts with a small wooden drop that launches the rider into a fast, rocky section in the trees. This track is very rocky and rooty, with continuous drops created by these natural features. Trestle Downhill is very steep - the steepest of all on offer at Trestle Bike Park.
Continue through tight and steep switchbacks and expect to encounter more rock gardens and large rock roll-overs. One of the most difficult rock gardens on the trail is near the top and leads you to a bridge that crosses
The Boulevard.
After crossing
The Boulevard, be prepared for two distinct and steep rock gardens immediately following switchbacks. There are large rocks, trees and roots to contend with here so pick your line carefully! Once again, the trail will cross paths with
The Boulevard.
Continuing down the final section of trestle downhill, you can expect much of the same terrain. You'll first encounter another [relatively] small wood to dirt drop. After clearing this feature you'll come to a section nicknamed "the tater patch." The Tater Patch is a large boulder roll-over feature that demands a high level of skill. Finally, Trestle Downhill finishes with a sprint through the trees toward a large wood to dirt drop, a banked turn out in the open, and eventually another intersection with
The Boulevard.
Again, this trail is for EXPERTS ONLY! That said, enjoy the ride if you can handle it!
