Outer Loop CCW featured ride for details.
Description
This trail got its name from agricultural terraces that were farmed at some point in the past. Personally, I don't see any terraces.
Trail description (CCW): The trail starts up a steep 4' bank to fast trail flowing through hardwoods, with enough curves to keep it interesting. Navigate a few twists and turns, cross a little gully, and descend a long fast hill to the lowest point of this trail.
The trail begins a long gradual climb. The trail enters a young pine woods area and makes a couple turns across a low area. After the turns on the pine woods area, look through the trees to the right for the campground. There is a bathroom here if you need it.
Shortly, you'll come to a short steep climb with a sharp left turn and a rock at the top. This is the only moderately-difficult feature of the trail.
You reach the top of the hill -- the highest point of this trail -- then descend through some ups-and-downs and twists, down a steep 4-foot incline and back onto the main
Outer Loop trail.
All in all, it is a fun, relatively root-free trail that is perfect for your XC Race hardtail. It is not strenuous, but can be a good workout if you push the climbs.
