Description
This trail makes for a great loop from
Pass Creek Trail. The Deer Creek trail is a fun ride to do after you've done most of the other trails in the area. The trail doesn't get much bike travel and can be hard to find at the top and is steep and loose at the bottom. The middle section of the trail has some sections of fast and flowy singletrack right above Deer Creek.
The trail shares the beginning of
Coal Creek Trail. Deer Creek vaguely splits left from Coal Creek at the top of the hill and goes next to a small lake. The trail veers right then left through some thick willow and can be hard to find in some places. Look for cairns and make sure you're on the trail before proceeding. As you go down, the trail becomes more pronounced and is easier to see and ride. The last bit of trail is gnarly, steep, and loose. This is a challenging trail but it's all rideable and fun!
Another option is to ride this trail as an out & back (but be prepared for lots of hike-a-bike at the start!).
