Description
Porta Potty is one of the original CARP trails.
Interesting fact: Porta Potty is one of the only loops at Camp yet it does not have loop in its name unlike another trail named
Outer Loop.
It begins and ends at
Center Road however, it has a well used junction (short connector) with
Outer Loop. Riding in either direction is fine, this trail holds up well year round and is always in use.
From
Center Road, Porta has been reworked a bit to cleanup a fall-line that was eroding and was a mess during the winter months. This has all been replaced with a nice flowy line with gravel armoring to protect the trail during rainy times. Riding clockwise, the trail begins winding through the woods and will continue with this rhythm for the next three miles. Most of the trail has been in existence for over twenty years, is very hard-packed soil, and the smooth bed is occasionally interrupted by roots and small rock gardens. The ascents and descents are short and, if your bike handling skills are up for it, you can maintain momentum making Porta Potty the source of the best flow on Camp Robinson.
If you ride the trail counter-clockwise, the trail begins with a slight ascend then a long (for Camp Robinson) descend to the intersection with
Outer Loop.
