Description

Starting at the intersection with Mahoney Butte Trail, head north to Red Warrior to Lodgepole Connector and Lodgepole Gulch. After the recent wildfires, this trail provides little to no shade and begins with a stout climb. Eventually, the trail dips into the woods and undulates for a ways.

The Mahoney - Lodgepole Connector is devoid of serious technical aspects until you pop out of the woods into open terrain. From here, the trail climbs incredibly steeply and presents you with a loose, dusty surface. Eventually, the efforts of your ascent will pay off and you have the choice to climb more (!?) up Red Warrior to Lodgepole Connector or descend down Lodgepole Gulch.

Lodgepole Gulch is a tough climb, but totally worth it for the views and the rippin' downhill!
