This trail is unique because of the mountain laurel growing on the hillsides along parts the trail.

Family Friendly Flatter trail.

Description

The Laurel Trail is an alternative to using the Splice Trail to traverse the park. However, there are some steps to portage over near the eastern end. Laurel roughly follows Shank's Creek through the park and is fairly flat with a few short climbs. It's one of the original Civilian Conservation Corps trails built in the 1930s along with Coquina and Hilltop Trail.
