This trail is usually combined with Richardson Creek Trail, Hogan Creek Trail #105 and other trails for loop options.

For a short ride to Hogan's cabin and back, there is a parking area at the base of Cabinet Creek across Hwy 43 from the trail. There are two trailheads: one across from Richardson Creek Trail to make a loop or a little east of the parking area at Cabinet Creek.

Ride along the edge of the meadow along it's east side for 1.5 miles. At this point the trail has two options, veer right along the creek and follow the trail as it contours up to the saddle, or take the steeper trail and head straight up the ridge.

Once over the saddle, travel along the meadows of Sunshine Creek. Climb a small hill and enter the meadows around Trail Creek and head for Hogan's cabin.
