Overview
A great place to take new bikers. Nearby rides are more fun for intermediates and up, but you can take even first-timers on this ride. If all goes well, head over to
Dino-Flow for a step up.
Description
Starting right from the parking area, head west towards the cliff and gently climb up a smooth singletrack path that's continuously lined with large rocks. The surface is smooth, fast, and flowing with no technical obstacles, difficulties or long climbs. Continue along the bottom of the cliff until you get to Agate Midline.
Take a right and in a couple tenths of a mile you'll hit the
Jasper Loop. Take a right again and enjoy more smooth singletrack through somewhat more interesting topography.
Jasper winds around (skip the connector to Copper Ridge) and climbs to a scenic bluff above the valley.
Enjoy some easy downhill riding, retrace the Agate Midline trail, and now turn right to complete the
Agate Loop.
Much of the
Agate Loop is on crushed white rock and feels like a lunar landscape while
Jasper Loop has mostly red dirt and feels like a Martian world. There's very little vegetation and no shade at all - avoid this on a hot day.
