Crosscut is roughly 2 miles long and serves as a connector to Skookum and Short Stacker.
To start Crosscut from the parking lot, look for the trail leaving the north end of the parking area. It gently climbs uphill on a tame bench cut side slope most of the way. There are a fair number of boardwalks in this section to keep the trail dry in wetter areas. You get a little help from gravity just before you reach the first intersection (Skookum). From there, Crosscut switches back south (toward the parking lot) on the same side slope you just traversed, except a little higher up this time. The terrain is pretty rolling, with a few nicely flowing, sustained downhill sections in the middle.
