This is primarily a descent route because it is so steep.

Description

The top part of this trail is utilized to get down from the Las Trampas Ridge trail. Del Amigo is very steep and almost always covered in 3" of dirt and dust.

The views from the top are spectacular. The hill is a common challenge run for the local high school sports teams. Be on the lookout for an American flag, or the school flag planted near the top by one of the teams.

The legal trail ends where the Madrone Trail hits this trail at the Eugene O'Neill National Historic site. The road continues for a bit after the intersection but ends on illegal, non-sanctioned singletrack.

Note: There is no legal singletrack in the park.
