Overview

A nice loop for beginners that encompasses double and singletrack. A good sample of fast, smooth and rocky sections that are in the Park.

Need to Know

State Park fee of $4.00 per person is charged in season.

Description

Leave the Hiker / Biker parking lot on Podunk rd in Allenstown, NH. Cross Podunk rd and turn left on Salt Lick. Keep left and do not follow doubletrack snowmobile trail. Turn left on Hemlock-1 and get ready for some super fast machine benched trail! Climb a bit after you cross the stream and take a right at the next intersection to Pitch Pine. Left on Pitch Pine and then a quick right on Broken Boulder. This section is singletrack which has a slight climb. After crossing the paved Campground rd, keep right where Pitch Pine ends. Take a right to go to the Smith Pond Shelter which loops back to Broken Boulder. At the next intersection turn right on Bobcat. Once you get through the nasty section you can motor to Podunk road.

Turn right on Podunk and then left into Hayes Field. Turn right on Little Bear and cross Hayes Farm rd to continue on Little Bear . Turn right on Big Bear, one of the best flow trails in the Park. At the end, turn right on Little Bear and ride it back to the parking lot.
