Gunnector spurs east from the Gunny Loop trail 1/2 mile from Little Park Road. The trail shortens Gunny Loop trail by approximately 1 1/3 miles; although by doing so a fun section of Gunny Loop downhill is cut out.

The trail connects more directly east through the desert, and avoids the climb along Gunny Loop to the Little Park Road trailhead.

Alternatively, particularly if riding from the Little Park trailhead Gunnector can be ridden east to west from Gunny Loop to stay in the upper section of the Lunch Loops, permitting possible figure-eight loop opportunities with Lunch Line to Free Lunch, Eagle's Wing, or Andy's Trail.
