The COGS Loop uses part of the Lime Trail between the Bill's Creek Loop and the Lakeview Loop. It is a relatively easy loop, like most of the loops at Lake Howard. It is not technical or steep, as it simply meanders along the hillside at a relatively constant elevation with a few ups and downs thrown in for fun. In some places, you can even see the lake if you look closely.

The COGS Loop intersects with the beginning of the Lakeview Loop when it begins to head back towards the Lake Howard trailhead.
